PORTLAND, Maine -- Following last month’s formation of a gubernatorial exploratory committee, the Jacobson for Governor team today launched JacobsonforGovernor.com (www.JacobsonforGovernor.com).

The web site sets the stage for Matt Jacobson’s announcement of his formal candidacy for Governor in April 2009.

“I’m excited about the launch of JacobsonforGovernor.com because it offers a excellent way for Mainers to learn more about my vision for Maine and how we will implement a new and brighter future for the state. I hope folks will also get to know me both as a person and as a candidate for Governor,” said Matt.

JacobsonforGovernor.com is a great online resource to learn more about Matt Jacobson and his family. Matt’s favorite role as a husband, father, son and brother is captured through family pictures. The web site also highlights Matt’s long history of public and private sector experience, from his time piloting C-130 Hercules aircraft for the U.S. Air Force to his efforts to create and retain jobs in Maine as an executive at the St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad in the 1990s and as President and CEO of Maine & Company since 2006.

Most importantly, JacobsonforGovernor.com lets visitors see where Matt stands on key issues that matter to Maine voters, including jobs, tax reduction, education and energy. “These are the areas of critical importance, and I’m bringing fresh ideas and new solutions to the table,” stated Matt. “Each issue we highlight is related to our goal of bringing jobs and opportunity to Maine families and communities.”

The web site is a model of how Maine people and businesses can use new media technologies.
